GIVE KIDS A SMILE DAY
WHAT: National “Give Kids A Smile” event in conjunction with National Dental Health Month, an annual event that provides dental screening and treatment for the under-served children of North Texas. “Give Kids a Smile” is a signature cause of the North Texas Dental Society.
WHO: Over 100 under-served children in the North Texas Dental Society communities who are currently enrolled in an Independent School District within the North Texas Dental Society boundaries. The GKAS program is only available to children in need who because of financial limitations are unable to access dental care through traditional private practice facilities. In order to qualify, the parents of these children must demonstrate such need through their participating schools. Local school nurses have agreed to assist in the identification and enrollment of under-served children in their schools. Guidelines for qualification can be obtained through their offices
WHERE: Local Dentist Offices
The North Texas Dental Society invites you to participate in our NTDS “Give Kids A Smile” event.
Use the link below to register to provide dental care in your office for uninsured, low-income children, as part of NTDS’s “Give Kids a Smile” program. Eligible patients are referred to dentists by the NTDS office and local school nurses who have identified children that qualify under the guidelines of the NTDS – GKAS program.
Once a child has been referred to your office, you will set a time that is convenient for you and the patient. The appointment should include an exam, prophy and x-rays. Any additional treatment is at the discretion of the dentist and can be offered at full price, some discounted price or pro bono.
The NTDS office will provide you with a “Completed Treatment Total” form that will be sent back to the NTDS office after treatment. This form is used to calculate totals and be reported to the National “Give Kids A Smile” program hosted by the American Dental Association.
